THE UPCYCLING CHALLENGE: OUR SIX FINALISTS!
(From top to bottom)
1. Natasha Andreicheva and her beautiful Wedding Dress:
“For the skirt I used: a blouse donated by my sister, lace purchased at a vintage fair, vintage fabric (the trim above the waistband) and 2 old waist slips (for lining). For the top, sleeves of the same blouse as above (for the front), vintage fabric (for the back), old but unused t-shirt (for part of the top underneath the waistband), old summer dress (for the lining and binding), upholstery cushion trim (for the binding)”
2. Claire Hunter & Immy and their lovely mannequin:
“My daughter Immy and I decoupaged this very battered mannequin with scraps from a kaftan and child’s dress- both from charity shops. The mannequin was from free cycle! We love it and it was a lovely bit of mother daughter bonding”
3. Jemma Marston and her funky suitcase:
“I transformed an old suitcase which I found in a charity shop by painting the outside and using old children’s clothes and made them into a patchwork for the inside”
4. Lanni Lanto and her incredible tent dress
“I used an old garden tent…it’s done a couple runway shows and really gets people talking!”
5. Laura Fernandez and her beautiful cami sleep set:
“I up cycled an old men’s shirt (the striped print), using key features such as the buttons down the front and a pocket on the back of the shorts. An old pillow case (the heart print) formed the rest of the set. The lace and ribbon for the trims and bows were scraps collected”.
6. Brenna Jensen and her adorable wool foxes:
“I made these from scraps of vintage wool blankets”
